Adpay User Guide: Getting Started with Payments



Welcome to Adpay! This app allows you to securely accept credit and debit card payments on your Wix site using the PowerTranz gateway. This guide will walk you through setting up your account and managing your payments.


1. Setting Up Adpay


To start accepting payments, you need to connect your PowerTranz account to your Wix site.


Step 1: Get Your PowerTranz Credentials

  1. Log in to your PowerTranz Merchant Portal.

  2. Note down your Merchant ID and Merchant Password.

    • If you are just testing, use your "Staging" credentials.

    • If you are ready to go live, use your "Production" credentials.



Step 2: Configure the App

  1. In your Wix Dashboard, open the Adpay Settings page.

  2. Enter your Merchant ID and Password into the corresponding fields (Test or Live).

  3. Switch the Environment Toggle to "Production" if you want to take real payments, or "Staging" for testing.

  4. Click Save Settings.


For Non Production Mode, It's Important to test with the demo credentials provided by PowerTranz. Of course, we can't share live credentials for actual transactions.

Step 3: Activate the App

Before you can see Adpay as a payment option on your checkout page, you must perform these two one-click steps:

  1. Register Instance: This connects your specific site to our management system.

  2. Complete Setup: This notifies Wix that Adpay is ready. Once clicked, you can head to your Wix "Accept Payments" settings to activate Adpay.


2. Managing Payments



Taking Standard Payments

When a customer checks out, they will be redirected to a secure Adpay payment page. They will enter their card details and, if required by their bank, complete a "3D Secure" verification (usually a code sent to their phone). Once successful, they will be returned to your site's "Thank You" page.


Recurring Subscriptions

Adpay supports automated recurring payments.

  1. Setup: Use the "Recurring Payment" form on your site to let customers sign up.

  2. Frequency: You can offer payments daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly.

  3. Automated Charging: After the first successful payment, Adpay securely "tokenizes" the card. Future payments are charged automatically without the customer needing to return to your site.


Refunding a Customer

If you need to refund a transaction, you can do so directly from your Wix Orders dashboard. Adpay automatically processes the refund through PowerTranz and updates the order status in Wix.

3. Important: Platform Subscription


To keep the Adpay service active on your site, you must have an active subscription to the Adpay platform. If your subscription expires or is canceled, the app will temporarily block new transactions to prevent errors. You can check your subscription status in the Adpay dashboard.



4. Troubleshooting Simple Issues


  • "Transaction Blocked" Message: This usually means your Adpay platform subscription is inactive. Please visit the subscription section of the dashboard.

  • Payments Staying "Pending": Ensure you have saved your credentials correctly in the Settings page and that "Step 3" above has been completed.

  • Customer Cannot Pay: Double-check if you are in "Staging" mode. If you are taking real payments, the switch must be set to "Production".
